Dr Cathie gives 14 year old Toby his 6 monthly check up.

Dr Cathie Savage didn’t know what she wanted to do as a profession until her family brought home a puppy and kitten when she was in high school. That puppy and kitten sparked Dr Cathie’s interest in pets, which has led to a 25 year career as a veterinary surgeon.

Dr Cathie graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Hons) in Small/Companion Animal Surgery and Medicine from the University of Sydney in 1989. Her career started with two years of working with cattle, followed by an internship at Sydney University in 1994 – 95. Since then, she has worked as a veterinary surgeon in various locations in Australia and in the United Kingdom. For the last 14 years, Dr Cathie has been a veterinary surgeon at the Chatswood Veterinary Clinic.

Dr Cathie is currently studying a Masters of Veterinary Public Health Management.
