There is no fundamental difference between man and animals in their ability to feel pleasure and pain, happiness and misery..” — Charles Darwin

According to the research, many dog and cat owners don’t know the key welfare needs for a happy, healthy life.
The research findings have shown there are five welfare worries for dogs:
- Loneliness
- Lack of exercise and socialisation
- Obesity
- Lack of preventative vet care
- Toxic treats
3 STEPS TO GOOD PET WELLBEING
Here’s our 3 step plan for a happy, lifelong bond with your pet:
- Stop before you shop! Think very carefully before getting a cat or a dog.
- Shop wisely – If you decide to take on a furry friend, make an informed decision (with your head and your heart). The first 12 months of puppyhood can be challenging, perhaps adopting a young adult dog from a rescue group or shelter is better for first-time dog owners.
- Give your pet a good quality of life for their entire lifetime with high-quality food, grooming, activity, and your companionship. Have a support plan in place should you become unable to look after your pet because you are hospitalised for a long period or for other reasons.
