Josh is a comedian (hopefully). He is surprisingly popular, if you take into account his face and personality. He has more than 250,000 twitter followers and 250,000 Facebook fans. His podcast ‘Josh Thomas and Friend’ is the most popular independent Podcast in Australia (when be bothers to make it).

In 2012 Josh wrote and starred in his own series, Please Like Me, which premiered on ABC2 in February 2013. Please Like Me Series 2 is currently on ABC2 Tuesdays at 9.30pm. The six part series is a wonderfully awkward and honest comedy drama that draws on Josh’s stand up and life. The Weekend Australian said that Please Like Me was a ”..very clever coming-of-age comedy…He really is quite a singular talent and may just turn into one of our great TV stars.”

In 2013, brand new US cable network Pivot.tv picked up Please Like Me and used it to launch the station. Josh found his face on busses and billboards all over the United States and before the show even went to air, Pivot announced in association with ABC2 that they had ordered a 10 part second season slated for 2014. The show aired on 1 August to critical acclaim across America and was listed as one of the “Best TV Shows of 2013” according to Entertainment Weekly, The New Yorker, Time Magazine and the The Los Angeles Times to name a few.

Before he had his very own series Josh appeared several times on The Project, was a regular favourite on Network Ten’s Good News Week, performed stand up on Rove, made a clumsy but OK appearance on ABC’s QandA, hosted the prestigious televised 2011 Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala and found his way into every second lounge room as the Generation Y Team Captain on Network Ten’s hit show Talkin’ ‘bout Your Generation.

In 2010, he was nominated for a TV Week Logie Award for Most Popular New Male Talent and won the GQ Comedian of the Year Award.

He really enjoys cooking. He was on ‘Celebrity Masterchef‘ but his Italian Meringue didn’t work and in 2012 he was on Foxtel’s Celebrity Come Dine With Me on the Lifestyle Channel.

He has a dumb accent, he knows he has a dumb accent. There is probably no need to bring it up.

Josh lives in Brisbane with his partner and his pet Cavoodle called John age 7.
