Michaela Lobb lives in Berwick, Victoria with three ‘moggie’ cats Vincent, Maximus and Tabitha.

When Michaela bought her first house in 2013, she wanted a secure outdoor area for Vincent where he could get fresh air and exercise while still being a house cat. So, with help from her family, Michaela created a simple low-cost DIY catio, which is now enjoyed by all her three cats. And when Vincent, Maximus and Tabitha are not using their scratching posts, napping or playing in the catio, Michaela takes them outside for a walk on a lead.

Ryan Jones lives in Adelaide with his partner, Sam Castle and a Malamute epileptic dog called Atari.

A couple of years ago, without warning Atari had a seizure, he was shaking, frothing at the mouth and stiff.  At the time of Atari’s first seizure, Ryan and Sam had no idea what was really happening to their beloved dog.  Their vet was not surprised however.  They found out the hard way that Malamutes were prone to epilepsy and the condition is likely to present at around two years old.

Discovering Atari had epilepsy and managing his condition was a big learning curve for Ryan and Sam.  They want to help other dog owners by sharing their experience of living with a Malamute epileptic dog.  They have three great tips to help you prepare for seizures and manage the condition.

Originally bred in Switzerland, the Bernese Mountain Dog also known as ‘Berner’ was a farm dog for guarding property and to drive dairy cattle long distances from the farm to the alpine pastures.  Winter is their favourite season particularly with their thick coat.

Susan Papazian is a talented portrait and travel photographer who also runs her own online travel business.  Susan lives in Sydney with her 17 month old Bernese Mountain Dog, Archie.  Susan shares her story about life with a Bernese Mountain Dog and a few tips for those considering getting this breed for their family.
